“You need at least one UTF8 locale to build a toolchain supporting locales ubuntu”

fix:
# sudo locale-gen en_US.UTF-8
# sudo locale-gen –no-purge –lang en_US.UTF-8

sudo xattr -d -r ‘com.apple.metadata:_kTimeMachineNewestSnapshot’ YOUR_DIR_OR_FILENAME
sudo xattr -d -r ‘com.apple.FinderInfo’ YOUR_DIR_OR_FILENAME

Remove ACL:
ls -l see “+”
sudo chmod -RN YOUR_DIR_OR_FILENAME

xubuntu 14.04 Rhythmbox

Its a good GNOME based media player for me with AirPlay, UPnP/DLNA and more …

An easier way to add the repository would be with add-apt-repository, install all the plugins in the repos. :

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:fossfreedom/rhythmbox-plugins
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install rhythmbox-plugin-complete

USB boot Ubuntu Trusty desktop iso

Directly boot Ubuntu Desktop image by two utility syslinux and grub4dos

0. Get Ubuntu Desktop ISO file, Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS (Trusty Tahr) and put in root of your USB (X:\)

1. Create a Bootable USB Windows XP
uncompress/unzip syslinux-4.0.7.zip to X:\syslinux
change to X:\syslinux\win32 folder. Run syslinux.exe -m -a X:
create a ‘syslinux.cfg’ file in the root of your USB (X:\)

default grub4dos
color cyan/blue white/blue
prompt 1
timeout 50

f1 syslinux.cfg

label grub4dos
kernel /grub4dos-0.4.6a/grub.exe –config-file=/grub4dos-0.4.6a/menu.lst
append –config-file=/grub4dos-0.4.6a/menu.lst

LABEL slax

APPEND iso raw initrd=slax.iso from=slax.iso

2. Put grub4dos to USB
uncompress grub4dos-0.4.6a-2014-12-06.7z to X:\grub4dos-0.4.6a
create a ‘menu.lst’ file in the folder of X:\grub4dos-0.4.6a
